A Prayer for When You’re Tired
Sometimes prayer feels like one more thing to do.
Sometimes even lifting a thought feels heavy.
God,
I come to You without energy,
without clarity,
without the right words.
I am tired in ways sleep doesn’t always fix.
Tired in my body,
tired in my mind,
tired in places I don’t know how to explain.
If rest is all I have to offer today,
let that be enough.
If silence is all I can manage,
meet me there.
Help me release the pressure
to be strong,
to be productive,
to be faithful in ways that look impressive.
Remind me that You are not disappointed by my limits.
That You do not require me to push past what is real.
That I am allowed to stop.
Sit with me in this weariness.
Hold what I cannot carry right now.
And if renewal comes,
let it come gently —
not as a demand,
but as grace.
Amen.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”
— Matthew 11:28
You’re welcome to sit with this as long as you need.
